Driven by a desire to see a total solar eclipse and having been thwarted by thick clouds over Cornwall in 1999, an opportunity to cross the Libyan Sahara and watch the 2006 TSE was too good to miss. Dark Sun in the Jamarihiya is an account of the adventure; the beauty and isolation of the desert, the warmth and friendliness of the Libyan people and the sheer awe-inspiring spectacle of the eclipse. |
